The Male Hormone Health Test evaluates the following biomarkers:

  • Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): this hormone is important in regulating the production of sperm in men.
  • Free androgen index (FAI): measures the amount of testosterone available to act on the body's tissues.
  • Luteinising hormone (LH):  stimulates the Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone.
  • Oestradiol: in men this hormone is responsible for modulating libido, erectile function and spermatogenesis.
  • Progesterone: A hormone primarily produced by the ovaries in females and adrenal glands in both sexes. Progesterone is important in men in order to produce testosterone.
  • Prolactin: A hormone tested in blood to diagnose and monitor conditions like infertility, pituitary disorders, and lactation abnormalities.
  • Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG): Biomarker used to assess hormonal balance. SHBG transports androgens in the blood and regulates their access to tissues.
  • Testosterone: A hormone produced in the testicles (males) and ovaries (females), regulates sex drive, bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass, and strength, influencing secondary sexual characteristics.
