At the Wells Clinic we use Thermocoagulation to remove skin tags, warts, moles, warts, milia, thread veins (upper body only), pigmentation and pretty much any skin blemish.

Thermocoagulation is a technique using an electrical current via a probe which produces heat and causes the skin lesion to lift off. We use a state of the art machine with high power and frequency to give the least discomfort to the client.

Is it safe?

This technique has been widely used by GPs and Dermatologists for decades as a way of removing skin lesions and are regarded as highly safe procedures. Dr Wells and Dr Matthews carry out all the procedures at the clinic.

Does it hurt?

We use a numbing cream for all our patients which is applied at least 20 minutes beforehand. You may experience a mild stinging sensation. Following this it may be necessary to inject a local anaesthetic depending on the nature of the lesion- most moles require this.  If a local anaesthetic injection is needed, the area should be completely numb and you not should feel anything during the procedure itself.

Cost
Skin tags, milia, threadveins, warts

£150 per skin lesion or 15 minute session for Thermocoagulation.

Moles and warts

£325 initial lesion (includes histology), £166 per each subsequent lesion which includes histology.

These lesions are larger and deeper in comparison with skin tags and milia and take longer to delicately remove with quite often the need for an injection of local anaesthetic prior to the procedure. We send all our moles for histology which is included in the price.

The initial consultation is FREE and we will only charge if a treatment is carried out. We will advise you which technique will be best suited to the type of skin lesion you have during your consultation.

Cysts, Lipomas
